Car Rental Uluwatu & Jimbaran (2026): Prices, Parking & Tips

The Bukit Peninsula — Jimbaran, Ungasan, Pecatu, Bingin and Uluwatu — is spread out, hilly and surprisingly far between beaches. A car makes sense for families, groups, surfers with several boards, or anyone staying in a cliff-top villa far from the shops.
Prices on the Bukit
- City car (Brio, Agya): about IDR 200–300k per day self-drive.
- 7-seater (Avanza, Xpander): about IDR 250–450k self-drive, IDR 550–800k with driver.
- Innova: about IDR 450–650k self-drive.
- SUV (Fortuner, Pajero): from about IDR 900k.

Airport pick-up
Jimbaran is about 20–30 minutes from Ngurah Rai Airport and Uluwatu about 30–50 minutes, depending on traffic. Having the car waiting at arrivals is very convenient — see Bali airport car rental.

Driving on the Bukit
- Steep roads lead down to beaches like Melasti, Nyang Nyang and Bingin. An automatic makes hill starts much easier; use a low gear going down.
- Narrow lanes to some villas — check car access with your host.
- Sunset traffic towards Uluwatu Temple and the cliff-top bars.
- The bypass to Jimbaran and the airport is busy at peak times.
Parking
Beaches, the temple and beach clubs have car parks with attendants (around IDR 5–10k). Some small beaches have limited car space and fill up at sunset. See car parking in Bali.
Surfers
Ask for roof racks when you book. A 7-seater with the back seats folded takes several boards inside. Prefer two wheels for dawn patrol? See surf rack scooter rental.
Day trips from Uluwatu and Jimbaran
- Nusa Dua and Tanjung Benoa — 20–30 minutes; calm beaches for kids.
- Seminyak and Canggu — 1–1.5 hours.
- Ubud — 1.5–2 hours; consider a driver.
