Car Rental Bali, Pay on Delivery: Book Now, Pay When the Car Arrives

The worst feeling on holiday is standing outside your villa at 3 pm, waiting for a rental car you paid for last week, while the “rental” has stopped answering WhatsApp. It happens more often than you’d think. Pay on delivery removes that risk completely: the car turns up first, you look it over, and only then does any money change hands.
How pay on delivery works
- Choose the car. Pick a model in the SiapPergi car catalogue (our sister site, run by the same team). Prices are fixed and shown upfront.
- Send your details. Dates, delivery address (villa, hotel or Ngurah Rai Airport) and your name.
- Get confirmation on WhatsApp. The admin confirms the car, the final price and the delivery time — in writing.
- The car arrives. The driver hands over the keys at your door or at arrivals.
- Check it, then pay. Pay in full by bank transfer or e-wallet (QRIS). No deposit up front.
- Pick-up at the end. The car is collected from wherever you are — handy if your last night is near the airport.
Why it’s the safer way to rent
Paying a deposit by bank transfer to a rental you’ve never met puts all the risk on you. If the car never comes, or the car that comes is older and scruffier than the photos, you’ve already paid. With pay on delivery:
- No car, no payment. You’ve lost nothing.
- Wrong car or poor condition? Don’t accept it.
- No awkward chasing of refunds from overseas.
It’s the same idea we recommend for scooters — see scooter rental Bali, pay on delivery.
What to check before you pay
Give yourself five minutes. The driver won’t mind — good rentals expect it.
- Walk-around video of every panel, bumpers, wheels and roof. Point out existing scratches on camera.
- Tyres: decent tread, no bulges, and a spare tyre plus jack in the boot.
- Air-con: switch it on — in Bali it has to blow properly cold.
- Lights, wipers, horn and indicators.
- Fuel gauge: take a photo so you return it at the same level.
- STNK (vehicle registration) in the glovebox, matching the plate.
- Child seat, if you asked for one.

How to pay at the door
Most Bali rentals take bank transfer or e-wallet. The quickest option is scanning a QRIS code with a banking or e-wallet app that supports it — many international travellers set one up before the trip. If you need to pay cash, mention it when you book so the admin can arrange it. Our payment guide covers cash, QRIS and cards in more depth.
Delivery to the airport, villas and hotels
Delivery is available across Bali: Canggu, Seminyak, Kuta, Jimbaran, Uluwatu, Nusa Dua, Sanur, Ubud and further out. If you’re picking up at Ngurah Rai, share your flight number so the driver can adjust for delays — more in Bali airport car rental.
What it costs
Pay on delivery doesn’t mean paying more. Self-drive cars in the SiapPergi catalogue start at around IDR 310k a day at the time of writing; market ranges for every model are in car rental Bali price per day and on our Bali car rental page.
Things that still need sorting before the car arrives
- Licence: your home licence plus an International Driving Permit (car category). See IDP for Bali.
- Passport: shown for ID — you shouldn’t have to leave it.
- Parking at your villa: some places down narrow lanes have no space for a car. Ask your host.
