Scooter Parking in Bali: Fees, Safe Spots & Local Etiquette

Parking is cheap in Bali, but the wrong spot can mean a fine, a towed or scratched bike, or worse, a stolen rental you must pay for.
Typical fees
IDR 2,000 at roadside spots, minimarts and warungs; IDR 2,000–5,000 at popular beaches, attractions and malls; the airport charges by time. Fees are set locally.
Park safely
Use attended parking and keep the ticket, lock the steering (and a disc lock if provided), don’t leave helmets, bags or the key on the bike, and park inside your villa gate at night.
Where not to park
In front of house or temple gates, on pavements or no-parking zones, under coconut palms, or at deserted beaches at night.
If the bike is stolen or damaged
Call the rental, show your ticket, get a police report and photos. Liability is set by your rental terms — see insurance and accidents & damage.
