Manual Motorbike Rental in Bali: Bikes, Prices & Best Routes

Most rental bikes in Bali are automatics, but a manual motorbike gives better control on steep descents, more fun on the winding roads of the north and — for trail bikes — access to rough tracks to hidden beaches.
What you can rent
- 150cc sport/naked (Yamaha Vixion, Honda CB150R): around IDR 150–250k per day.
- Retro (Kawasaki W175): around IDR 150–250k per day.
- Trail (Kawasaki KLX, Honda CRF150L): around IDR 250–400k per day.
- 250cc+ sport (Ninja 250, R25): from around IDR 350k per day.
These are market ranges, not quotes. Manual bikes are scarcer than scooters, so book 1–3 days ahead and ask for photos of the actual bike.
Licence
Indonesia’s SIM C covers motorbikes up to 250cc; bigger bikes need SIM C I (250–500cc) or C II (500cc+). Visitors need their home licence plus an IDP with the motorcycle category — see licence requirements and our big bike rental guide.
Best routes
Bedugul–Munduk–Lovina for endless bends, Kintamani to Amed for volcano views, the Bukit’s steep beach tracks on a trail bike, and the long straight roads of West Bali. More in our road trip itinerary.
What to check
The clutch must not slip, the chain should be clean and correctly tensioned, gears should shift smoothly, and tyres — especially knobby trail tyres — need tread left. Bring gloves and a jacket for the cool highlands.
