Big Bike Rental in Bali: Motorcycles, Licence Rules & Prices

For experienced riders, a big bike turns Bali’s mountain climbs and long coastal roads into proper touring.
What you can rent
Adventure bikes (BMW GS, Versys, CB500X), sport/naked bikes (Ninja/Z 650, MT), cruisers (Harley-Davidson, Royal Enfield), or the clutch-free XMAX 250.
Licence rules
Indonesia splits motorcycle licences by engine size: SIM C up to 250cc, C I for 250–500cc and C II above 500cc. Visitors need a full (unrestricted) motorcycle category on their home licence plus an IDP. Without it you risk fines and void insurance — see licence requirements and insurance.
Prices and deposits
Prices vary widely: 250–500cc bikes from a few hundred thousand rupiah per day, premium 650cc+ bikes up to millions per day, with much larger deposits. Get a written quote with price, deposit, mileage limits and damage liability.
Touring routes
Kintamani–Besakih–Amed, Bedugul–Munduk–Lovina and West Bali to Gilimanuk. Avoid Canggu and Seminyak lanes at rush hour. More in our road trip itinerary.
