Tanjung Benoa is a slender peninsula reaching north from the Nusa Dua resort area, with calm sea on its eastern side and Benoa Bay to the west. Once a fishing village, it is now Bali's best-known water sports centre, lined with resorts, villas and seafood restaurants. At its tip a Hindu temple, the Caow Eng Bio Chinese temple and a mosque stand close together, a nice reminder of the coast's mixed community. Since everything sits along one long road, scooter rental in Tanjung Benoa lets you come and go without waiting for hotel shuttles or taxis.

The main road is Jl. Pratama, running from the Nusa Dua gate to the end of the peninsula. It is flat and smooth but narrow in places and often full of tour buses heading to the water sports centres, especially from morning to midday.
