How to Price Scooter Rentals (2026): Daily, Monthly & Seasonal
Price too low and you can’t cover services and instalments; too high and renters walk to the shop next door. The right price comes from your own costs and the market in your area.
1. Cost per rented day
Add up a bike’s yearly costs — depreciation or instalments, servicing, tyres, tax, helmets, plus a share of rent, staff, website and ads — and divide by the days it is realistically rented, not 365. Example: IDR 8.1M per year ÷ 200 rented days ≈ IDR 40,500 per day as your floor (illustrative only).
2. Check the local market
Compare 5–10 rentals in your area. Typical Bali ranges: 110cc automatics (BeAT, Scoopy) about IDR 60–100k/day, Vario 125 about 70–120k, NMAX/PCX about 120–200k, higher in busy areas like Canggu and Seminyak.
3. Daily, weekly, monthly
| Rental | Common pattern |
|---|---|
| Daily | Base rate |
| Weekly | ~10–25% cheaper per day |
| Monthly | ~35–55% cheaper per day |
Keep monthly rates above your cost per day.
4. Seasons
High season is July–August, December–early January and long national holidays: raise daily rates moderately and set a minimum rental. In low season, push weekly and monthly rentals and free delivery. Announce seasonal prices early.
5. Show prices people trust
List daily, weekly and monthly prices per model, state what is included, show the deposit and cancellation policy (see our terms template) and update prices promptly.
